Supreme Court Settles Kpandai Election Dispute, Restores Mandate

  The Supreme Court of Ghana has finally brought clarity and calm to the long-running parliamentary election dispute in  Kpandai , delivering a decisive ruling that reinforces constitutional order and electoral certainty. In a majority decision, the apex court  quashed the earlier ruling of the Tamale High Court , which had annulled the December 7 parliamentary election results and ordered a rerun. The Supreme Court held that the High Court erred in law, particularly on issues of jurisdiction and the constitutional timelines governing election petitions. By overturning the rerun order, the Court  restored the mandate of Matthew Nyindam , affirming him as the duly elected Member of Parliament for the Kpandai Constituency. This ruling effectively ends months of political uncertainty, legal battles, and heightened tension within the constituency.
